Causes of dog kidney problems

As mentioned before, there are many diseases that may lead to dog kidney problems. The most common one is congenital. If you have a puppy that has no health issues and suddenly starts showing these symptoms, then you should bring him to the vet immediately.

Another common one is due to kidney stones. It is the most common kidney disease among all breeds. It occurs when the pet produces too much urine, and it leads to the formation of hard mass in the kidney.

If it remains untreated for a long time, it may lead to other complications like infection or blockage in the urinary tract.

Symptoms of dog kidney problems

If you are dealing with such a problem in your dog, then you may notice some or all of these symptoms:

  • Vomiting
  • Blood in the urine
  • Abdominal pain
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight loss
  • Weakness

Dog kidney problems are quite common in all dogs. If you have any symptoms related to kidney diseases, then you need to consult with a veterinarian immediately. And don’t worry if you are not able to diagnose the problem as there are many diseases that may look similar to it.
