How to begin Doggie Yoga?

Begin with the Chaturanga pose. This is the easiest pose for a dog. Sit with your dog on your chest with your legs extended. It will relax your dog so that it’s ready for a yoga class. Once you’ve mastered the chaturanga pose, try the chair pose, where you sit on the floor with your dog’s feet up in the air. Take a deep breath and gently bring the dog’s paws back down to the floor.

Safety first?

As with any exercise, always consult with a physician or veterinarian before starting any exercise program with your dog. Although your dog can tell you if something is bothering him or her, you can’t.

The best way to avoid injury is to monitor your dog’s body’s reaction to any yoga activity. A simple way to do this is to sit beside your dog and observe them while you practice the poses. You can also use a PitPat Activity Monitor for tracking the fun activities you both enjoy.

Whats the most basic pose?

The Chaturanga pose is the most basic pose for dogs, and it’s the best way to start. You can start by sitting on your dog’s belly and rubbing his or her back gently. You can also use the chaturanga pose to teach your dog the chair position.

As with all yoga poses, it’s important to rest and let your dog do the same. If your dog is comfortable with sitting on his or her torso, it’s a good idea to take a deep breath and bring his or her paws down slowly.

Working together?

The first pose is the heart to hound mudra. It involves placing your right hand on your dog’s heart with your left. Your dog should not move at all, and it’s perfectly normal for you to feel nervous and worried if you don’t know how to sit with your dog. As long as you’re able to sit cross-legged, the puppy paw mudra will allow you to lie next to your dog on its back.

The first dog yoga pose is the chaturanga pose. This pose is very easy for dogs and can be done by anyone. If you’re new to dog yoga, start by lying down on the floor with your dog.

Your dog will feel comfortable in the posture and will be more likely to participate. If your dog is nervous, try massaging its head. You can both enjoy a fun yoga class with your pooch! This will give you a better bond.
