The dog was rescued from someone who had her in the van. The dog might have gone through a lot with her former owner that is why the dog was so anxious.
How The Weighted Blanket Helped The Dog
The dog, named Roxie, was emaciated when she was rescued. This might be one of the reasons why the dog is so traumatized and anxious.
According to the new owner of Roxie, she was told by many people that the dog was too much to handle. They even recommended that Roxie be put down. However, the rescuer did not listen and knew that Roxie needed something different and she could give that to the dog.
They finally got Roxie a weighted blanket because she would always go under the blankets when in the couch. Roxie loved the weighted blanket because it felt like someone was hugging her all the time. The weighted blanket was a blessing because this helped Roxie finally stop shaking so much.
Someone actually offered Roxie and her new owner a weighted vest to see if it also helps the doggie. It did and Roxie just loves her weighted vest and blanket.
Ever since Roxie stopped shaking, the change in her was amazing. She showed that she loves going on walks, digging, and just living life. Roxie also became friends with another dog named Maggie. Maggie also helped in bringing Roxie out of her shell so that she could socialize more with other people and dogs.
Now, Roxie hangs out with her owner at her office all the time. She also doesn’t need the weighted vest and blanket as much anymore. Roxie is a very different dog compared to when she first came home with her rescuer and owner. Roxie also changed her owner’s life because the dog was the reason why the owner became sober.
